Harry W. Brown

	Harry W. Brown Jr., age 83, of Pinckneyville, died Thursday, June 21, 2001 in St. Johns Hospital, Springfield, Ill.
	Harry was born in Pinckneyville on December 7, 1917, the son of Harry M. Brown Sr. and Gertie (Wheatley) Brown.  He married Beaulah Tanner on September 21, 1937 in Lithieum, Mo.  Harry worked for Bollmeier Construction Co., and was a member of the UMWA #2117.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a lifelong member of Beaucoup Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Okaw Amateur Radio Club.
	Survivors include his wife, Beaulah of Pinckneyville; a daughter, Barbara Penrod and husband Rev. Delbert Penrod of Rochester; three grandchildren, Douglas Penrod and wife Debbie of Blacklick, Ohio, Dennis Penrod and wife Kim of Payson and leanna Barber and husband Mark of Riverton; one sister, Virginia Jackson and husband Harold of Adamsville, Tenn.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby Emery.
	Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 23 at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville at 1 p.m. with Rev. J.O. Mathenia officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Visitation was at the funeral home on Friday, June 22 from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, June 23 from 8 a.m. until services.
	Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Threshermans Association.
